Treatment for tech use?
Let’s face it. Screens are everywhere, and they’re filled with fun!
They also have the potential to hijack your life.
As the nation’s leader in the treatment of problematic screen use, reSTART has worked with hundreds of people on the fence about needing to change. We get it. Fortnite Battle Royale, PUBG, Red Dead Redemption? Fabulous. VR? AR? Captivating. Call of Duty-Black OPS 4? Enough said. Social media? Who knows, you might be the next influencer! Right? Digital media is enticing, addictive, competitive, and distracting.
Our evidence-based residential program helps teens get back on track with what matters most – life.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is your philosophy of change?
We see love, connection and belonging as the strongest motivator of change. We heavily emphasize group interactions because we want to see teens connecting, interacting and building healthy and strong relationships with each other, as well as with our talented, well-qualified staff, and their families.
First and foremost, we help teens establish a healthy, balanced and sustainable relationship with digital media while addressing underlying issues which keep them stuck. Ultimately, we strengthen the entire family system, not just the person distracted by screen use.
How Long Does the Process Take?
Each person is takes their own path to greatness. Some teens come in 8 semesters behind in school, some only 2. Others enroll to learn how to deal with feelings of depression or anxiety. Others just want to get back on track academically. Most leave doing significantly better in key areas than when they arrived. We offer year round academic support and credit recovery. Enrollment is usually by the semester.
Our summer intensive runs about 12 weeks but fills up quickly.

How do I enroll? Is there a waitlist?
As part of the enrollment process, you’ll have a conversation vy phonw to discuss your specialized care needs.
Length of stay is customized to accomodate treatment needs and family budgetary constraints. Most teens stay three to nine months.
Openings are on a first come first served basis, and openings occur only as people transition. Some months we carry a waitlist, in other months we do not (when we have several transition all in the same week).
Due to our small campus size, we suggest you get on the wait list as soon as possible. We’ve seen the entire campus fill up in 7 days in the past.
What do other parents have to say?
“I am thrilled to say that [my son] has exceeded my wildest expectations. He is thriving in ways I couldn’t even imagine. He has not played any video games since he left reSTART, which has been his choice. He is so excited about learning and is involved in many clubs at school. You not only gave me my son back, but you gave him his life back. As difficult as it was to drop him off in the midst of his screaming, crying and threats, it was by far the best decision I have ever made. More importantly, he would agree.”N from Illinois
